FIU Emergency Response Mock Hurricane Event

For the second year in a row, we welcomed the Guy Fieri Foundation @guysfoundation to our Biscayne bay campus, to collaborate with our students on the annual Disaster Field Operations Exercise, lending their expertise, mentorship, and time in service of a great cause.

At #FIUHospitality, we train our students to manage logistics for a variety of situations. One pressing issue that faces our South Florida community every year is hurricane season. To prepare for this and other disaster scenarios, we partner with FIU’s Academy for International Disaster Preparedness, part of the Robert Stempel College of Public Health & Social Work @fiustempel, for their annual Disaster Field Operations Exercise.
